Deputy of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister: Azerbaijan hoped to be treated more seriously by EU
Commenting on the invitation to come to the Vilnius summit of "Eastern Partnership" made by the EU to Azerbaijan, the deputy foreign minister, Araz Azimov said that the highest authorities of Azerbaijan will decide whether to participate in it.
The diplomat complained about the vagueness of the geographical scope of the "Eastern Partnership" program.  Araz Azimov also said that Baku had expected to have been treated more seriously as a partner by the EU. As an example of such beneficial cooperation, he mentioned the signing of a memorandum of strategic partnership in the field of energy between the EU and Azerbaijan.
