The Azerbaijani parliament has urged President Ilham Aliyev to appoint Artur Tair ogly Rasizadeh as the Prime Minister,1news.az reports.
Rasizadeh was born in Kirovabad (Ganja) on February 26, 1935. He graduated at middle school N4 in Lenkoran in 1957, Industrial Institute named after M. Azizbekov in 1957. He became the Director of the Azerbaijani Engineering Institute in 1977.
He worked at the Azerbaijani State Planning Committee in 1978-1981, was Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the AzSSR in 1986-1992, supervising the fields of energy, engineering and petroleum.He became Vice Prime Minister of Azerbaijan in May 1996, acting Prime Minister replacing Fuad Guliyev on July 1996, Prime Minister on November 26. He resigned due to health problems on August 4, 2003, and returned to office on November 4, 2003.
