Jakhangir Gojayev, head of the section for external links and information of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, said that development of the general plan for the Greater Baku until 2030 will be completed by the end of 2013, Trend reports.
The general plan is part of the state program for socio-economic development of regions in 2009-2013.
Gojayev said that the Absperhon Peninsula needed a complex program, Sumgayit and Khyrdalan needed solutions of socio-economic problems.
Companies of the US, Australia, Spain and other states were hired to work on problems of ecology, environment, beautification, transportation, noises. About 22,000 hectares of petroleum-industry territories will be re-cultivated by 2030. Vegetation will be planted on 34,000 hectares. Hundreds of kilometers of roads will be built.
