Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko said that a minister should be appointed to work on interethnic problems. Mikhail Lebedinsky, head of the committee for local autonomy, became a member of government for interethnic and inter-religious affairs.
Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin put responsibility for interethnic peace on regional authorities.
