Russian interior minister wants regions to be responsible for criminals

Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Russian Interior Minister, Constantine Romodanovsky, head of the Federal Migration Service, and Alexander Gorbenko, Moscow Vice Mayor, have discussed the Biryulyovo ethnic class at the governmental hour today, RIA Novosti reports.

 

Kolokoltsev said that the number of crimes committed by foreigners was growing in Russia. The rate increases by 30% and more in every fourth region. Despite the crime level dropping by 10%, the number of crimes committed by foreigners continued rising.

 

Over half of all crimes committed by foreigners happened in the Central Federal District, the highest growth rate of such crimes was seen in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

 

The interior minister believes that regional authorities should be responsible for their crime levels. He added that unemployment and other social problems of regions were not an excuse.
