Experts hail Ahmedov's appointment as Azerbaijani Vice Prime Minister

Fikret Sadykhov, a professor of the Western University, said that appointment of Ali Ahmedov, Executive Secretary of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party, as the Vice Prime Minister of Azerbaijan was an expression of trust and recognition of his professionalism of the past years and, possibly, the president's attempt to form a tandem between the government and the ruling party.


Sadykhov believes that focusing on staff resources of the party proved that it had professionals in the state administration could make use of. Moreover, the president relies on the party as the core of socio-political support.


Rasim Musabekov, a member of the Azerbaijani parliament and political analyst, noted that political reforms in the government were not over. With account of Artur Alizadeh's reappointment and presence of other vice prime ministers engaged in humanitarian issues, Ahmedov would most likely continue the line of humanitarian initiatives, the expert explains. Musabekov added that Ahmedov was a Doctor of Philosophy.
