Ahead of the Georgian presidential elections Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the issue with political analysts.
According to Iosif Tsiskarishvili, for the first time since declaring its independence Georgia will elect an official and not a charismatic leader, not a messiah. He also notes that the political situation in the country ahead of the elections is quite calm.
No one is certain who will win the elections, he says. The expert believes however that the candidate from the ruling Georgian Dream coalition is most likely to win the race, while David Bakradze from the pro-presidential United National Movement party will probably lose.
According to Nana Devdariani, a second round of elections is expected to take place. She also says that Margelashvili will probably come first, followed by Burdzhanadze and Bakradze.
