Grozny will soon open a branch of the Presidential Library in Grozny, the first one in the North Caucasus, according to a deal signed by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and director general of the Presidential Library Alexander Vershinin, chechnyatoday.com reports.
The branch will be organized at the National Library in Grozny, taking up 18,000 square meters.
Murat Tagiyev, deputy head of administration of Kadyrov and government, said that the region had dozens of libraries. He added that Chechnya was restoring the old archive, and adding more books. The official noted that the new library will have electronic profiles of readers, a conference hall, a center for scanning and an electronic reading hall with 100 seats. Moreover, Chechen books will be digitalized, according to the cooperation agreement.
