Head of North Ossetia gives up presidential title.
The Head of North Ossetia, Taimuraz Mamsurov, supported the idea of renaming the highest position in the republic from “president of the republic” to “head of the republic”. This was discussed between Taimuraz Mamsurov and Ramzan Kadyrov, the president of the Chechen Republic, during their telephone conversation, reports RIA Novosti.
“I consider that there can only be one president in the country,” says Mamsurov.
Last week Ramzan Kadyrov addressed an official letter to the Chechen Parlament, in which he suggested amending the title of the highest position in the republic.
