It doesn't matter whether all Syrian opposition groups will take part in Geneva talks or not, expert says

Almost 20 Syrian opposition groups have refused to take part in the coming international coference on the Syrian crisis that is going to be held in Geneva. Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the situation with Advisor to the Deputy Chairman of Russia's Federation Council Andrey Baklanov.

According to the expert, the conference will be a major step towards the resolution of the ongoing conflict and establishement of a sufficient security system in the region.

He underlines that it doesn't matter whether all Syrian opposition groups will take part in Geneva talks or not. It's necessary to establish a dialogue between those parties who are ready for talks.

The groups who will abstain from talks simply won't be involved in the process and their voice won't be heard, Baklanov notes.
