Turkish lawmaker says time has come for headscarves in parliament

The time has become for female lawmakers to wear headscarves in parliament, MP Nurcan Dalbudak is quoted by Hurriyet Daily News as saying before her historic entrance into the Parliament with two other female lawmakers.

“We have decided to continue this [wearing headscarves] after being influenced by the spirituality there [at the hajj] with the help of social conditions that have become mature,” Dalbudak told the Anadolu Agency on October 28, Hurriyet reports.
