Georgian PM announces end of cooperation with former ruling party

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili says the transition period marked by the so-called cohabitation of the ruling Georgian Dream party and the pro-presidential United National Movement party has ended.

The prime minister made his statement following the recent presidential elections won by the coalition's candidate Georgy Margelashvili, who is now set to replace the founder of the United National Movement, President Mikheil Saakashvili, in office.

"The process has ended. The government will be even stronger with the new president," Prime Minister Ivanishvili said.
