Georgian singer Grigory Lepsveridze, born in Sochi on July 16, 1962, is among six people and four companies blacklisted by the US Treasury for contacts with the Brothers’ Circle. Vladislav Leontyev and Gafur Rakhimov, heads of the organization, were blacklisted in February 2012, RIA Novosti reports.
Lepsveridze, Leps for short, lives on the Phuket Island (Thailand). He is suspected of transporting money for Leontyev, says John Sullivan of the US Treasury.
Brothers’ Circle, Yakuza (Japan), Los Zetas (Mexico) and Camorra (Italy) are on the blacklist of 2011. US President Barack Obama freezes any property belonging to members of the gangs.
