Russia is ready to work with any president of Syria who has been given a vote of confidence by the Syrian people people, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told Bloomberg in an interview.
"The Russian Federation, while respecting the principles of international law and the UN Charter, has never interfered in the internal affairs of sovereign states, we are not engaged in social engineering. Any figure as president of Syria will be acceptable to us if he enjoys the confidence of the population of this country," Interfax quotes Bogdanov as saying.
