US analysts said that new media sources were also the origin of large volumes of unofficial information and some believe that a filtering system is needed. A member of the Columbia University noted that the Internet was a replacement of the real world for some children and students.
Analysts say that California has the Hollywood Exchange where people can discuss films and rate them.
But the Internet cannot be controlled and may cause events such as the protests at Turkey’s Gezi Park.
Kamal Ozturk, Director General of the Anatolia News Agency, said that the Internet resulted in over 174 papers closed in the US, 64 in England and 30 more possible closed in the future. He added that false information had been spread among 15,000 people online.
Alex Gibbow, head of the Romanian National News Agency, believes that mass media is in a global crisis where people used smartphones and Androids for information. He said that journalism must meet modern standards.
