After the recent uprising in Moscow's Biryulyovo district it became evident that violations of migration laws are numerous in Russia. Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the problems surrounding migration with the chairman of the State Duma's Committee for Inter-Ethnic Relations, Gadzhimet Safarliyev.
According to the lawmaker, the main problems are cheap labour resources and corruption. The main difficulties occur when employers look for cheap labor, Safarliyev says.
He underlines that the state policy concerning migration is an international issue. That is why it's necessary to adopt a well-considered approach to the matter, the lawmaker says.
Safarliyev notes that he himself supports the idea of labour migration, but calls for struggle against illegal aliens.
