Georgian envoy calls for better relations with Russia

The Special Representative of the Georgian Prime Minister for Russia, Zurab Abashidze, says it will take a long time to establish goodneighbourly relations with Russia, Georgia Online reports.

 

First of all the two nations should find a way to overcome the deadlock, the official says.

 

The government formed by the Georgian Dream coalition following the October 1st 2012  parliamentary elections announced right away that it would pursue better relations with Russia.

 

The two states broke off diplomatic ties during the August 2008 war.
