It is possible that Turkey will not want to be an EU member, Turkish President Abdullah Gul is quoted as saying by the TRT Haber TV channel on Tuesday, Azerbaijani news agency Trend informs.
According to the Turkish president, Turkey may choose the path of Norway in the future.
Turkish Minister for EU Affairs Egemen Bakhish has said earlier that political barriers hinder Turkey's accession to the European Union. According to the official, prolongation of Turkey's accession process to the EU leads to the country's citizens losing their trust in this structure.
He astressed however that Ankara will continue reforms aimed at the country's integration into the EU.
