Delegation of US Department of Justice and FBI to visit Moscow

A delegation of the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is going to visit Moscow soon. The US officials together with their Russian colleagues are expected to investigate several criminal cases, including those concerning persons included on the so-called Magnitsky list.

The Magnitsky list, including 18 Russians responsible for severe human rights violations, was published by the Obama administration on April 12th, 2013.

The list was drafted in accordance with the Magnitsky Act adopted by the US Congress in November-and December 2012. The bill was named after Russian auditor Sergey Magnitsky, who died in prison allegedly after being tortured. Magnitsky investigated fraud involving Russian tax officials.
