Speaker of Federation Council of Russia proposes Eurasian women’s forum

Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, proposed the formation of the Eurasian women’s forum at a meeting with Uzbek Vice Prime Minister Elmira Basitkhanova, head of the women’s committee, in Tashkent, RIA Novosti reports.Basitkhanova said that the committee had been founded in 1991 for social and economic protection of women. The committee deals with maternity and child issues, and also works on problems of education and upbringing.
