Astrakhan Mayor Mikhail Stolyarov, suspected of taking a bribe worth 10 million rubles, has been brought to an investigative detention center in Moscow, RIA Novosti reports.
Spokesman of the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin said that Stolyarov had been detained receiving cash.
Olga Batalina, Deputy Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party, said that the cancelling of Stolyarov's membership of the party will be discussed in the near future. He will not be booted from the party at this moment.
