Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation at high point experts say

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's recent visit to Turkey soon after his re-election is the main topic widely discussed in the region. Vestnik Kavkaza asked Turkish experts to comment on the event.

Turkish lawmaker and chairman of the Strategic Research Centre, Sinan Ogan, believes that the fact that the Azerbaijani president has decided to pay his first official visit to Turkey is very symbolic. He notes that the Turkish leader also visited Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus right after his party's re-election.

The visit shows how close, sincere and successful bilateral relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are, Ogan says.

Member of the International Research Centre (USAK) Hasan Selim Ozertem agrees that the Azerbaijani president's visit to Turkey is a very remarkable sign.

"It shows how important Turkey is to Azerbaijan," he says.
