Condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian people, the families and friends of those killed in the crash of a passenger plane in Kazan were expressed on Monday by the leaders of Belarus, Armenia and Azerbaijan – Alexander Lukashenko, Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan.
"The news of a passenger plane crash in Kazan which resulted in numerous casualties was received in the Republic of Belarus with deep sorrow," RIA Novosti quoted the press service of the Belarusian head of state. Lukashenko also sent his condolences to President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in connection with the death of his son in a plane crash.
The President of Azerbaijan sent a message of condolence to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. "I am deeply saddened to hear of the many casualties as a result of the crash at the airport in Kazan. On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I express my sincere condolences to you, to the families and friends of the victims and to the people of Russia," the message to the Russian leader says.
In addition, the head of Azerbaijan expressed his condolences to President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov: "I am deeply shocked by the news of a plane crash in Kazan which caused numerous casualties. I regret to receive the news of the tragic death of your son Irek," Ilham Aliyev said, according to "Interfax- Azerbaijan" and the website of the Azerbaijani President. "On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I express my sincere condolences and sympathy to you, the families and friends of the victims," the document says.
According to the press service of the President of Armenia, "Sargsyan expressed deep condolences over the death of the passengers and conveyed his sincere words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims."
The Russian Prime Minister expressed his condolences on behalf of the government to the relatives of the dead, honoring their memory by a minute of silence. "On behalf of the government, I wish to express my sincere condolences to all the families of the victims; I propose to honor their memory," Medvedev said at a meeting with the vice-premiers.
Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, in turn, expressed his condolences to President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the plane crash in Kazan. The Head of the Chechen Republic said on his page on Instagram that he got to know the news of the tragedy in holy Mecca, where Kadyrov made a small Hajj.
According to him, he, along with his colleagues, prayed at the holy Kaaba and mentioned all the victims of the plane crash.
"Dear Rustam Minnikhanov, please accept our sincere condolences on your grief and the grief of the people of Tatarstan Please convey our condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
