Tbilisi court to hold new hearings of ex-minister and ex-PM case

The Tbilisi Court of Appeal will renew the hearings of the case against Georgian ex-Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaya and his assistants suspected of tortures and illegal detention of Zviad Abesadze, Trend reports.

The court had hearings of their final words at a session on November 14.

Preliminary trial of ex-Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili will start at 12.00 pm in Georgia. He made a special statement on the first session on November 6, claiming that someone was discrediting him. Merabishvili is charged with excess of authority during the crackdown of protesters on May 26, 2011.
