CIS defense ministers to meet in Moscow tomorrow

Defense ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine will meet at the 65th session of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers in Moscow on November 21, Trend reports.Sergey Lebedev, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Secretary of the CIS, is expected to attend the talks.The ministers will discuss over 20 issues of military cooperation, including achievements of the Council in 2013, cooperation in information exchange, detection of armed forces, modernization and maintenance of equipment, formation of a Unified System for Control and Evaluation of Radioactive, Chemical and Biological Situation, hydrometeorological support, cooperation of Defense Ministries in maintaining security, staff training, counter-terrorism activities, Olympics of cadets, CIS 11th Spartakiad of 2014, organization of CIS Training Center for International Security, as well as the unification of air defenses in 2014.The ministers plan to make decisions for financial, staff and procedural issues of CIS Defense Ministries.
