Turkish, Russian leaders to discuss Syria and nuclear power

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Russia on November 21. Sinan Ogan, a Turkish MP and Director of TURKSAM, said that Russia and Turkey had no differences in any issues, including the Syrian crisis. He believes that energy problems, Middle East and Syria will be the main topic of Putin and Erdogan’s talks.

Hassan Selim Ozertem, an analyst of USAK, noted that the two states had a close dialogue in many issues, including Syria. He added that they had a trade turnover of $35 billion. Russia is the main trade partner of Turkey. The analyst predicts that Erdogan and Putin will discuss political and economic cooperation, Syrian problem, construction of nuclear power plants in Turkey, Black Sea security in the context of the Sochi Olympic Games. France and Japan will build a nuclear power plant in Sinop.

Mevlut Cavusoglu, a member of the Justice and Development Party and ex-head of the PACE, said that relations between the two states were very good and they had many positive areas of common interest.
