Abdullatipov to divide Dagestan into four territorial districts

The president of Dagestan, Ramadan Abdullatipov, has announced his intention to divide the republic into four territorial districts.

"Soon we will move to a new control scheme. We will set up four regional districts, each will have its plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Republic of Dagestan. They, in turn, will work together with the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Parliament on a weekly basis and inform me of the situation in a given area or city," "Interfax" quotes him.

The President also presented a demand to a number of ministries: "Progress reports should be on my desk, as well as reports from the Ministry of Internal Affairs every morning". This summary, according to Abdullatipov, should come at least once a week from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Industry and Energy on the activities of all the enterprises. The Head of the Republic has expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the vice-premiers. Abdullatipov said that from now on vice -premiers will work in Moscow with specific ministries 10 days a month.

" You will have to report to me about the implementation of federal target programs in the territory of Dagestan, in all ministries. We should cooperate with the federal authorities, we do not have more resources, as well as investment. Principal investments are our federal budget, whether we like it or not," he said .

At present Dagestan comprises 42 districts and 10 urban districts. Dagestan is the most multi-ethnic republic of Russia, and the most numerous ethnic groups are the Avar, Dargin, Kumyks and Lezghins.
