Presidents of Russia and Armenia to hold talks

The Presidents of Armenia and Russia will discuss a wide range of issues, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview to the Public Television of Armenia, News Armenia reports.


Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was invited by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to Yerevan on August 19th, together with his wife Svetlana Medvedeva. The sides will sign a bilateral agreement concerning the Russian military base in Armenia and prolonging its presence to 49 years, starting in 1995.


The sides will also discuss political, military-strategic, humanitarian and economic issues. According to Lavrov, Russia and Armenia are not only cooperating on post-Soviet space but also in the CSTO, CIS and EurAsES, where Armenia is an observer, as well as in multilateral structures such as the OSCE, the Council of Europe and the UN.
