An international panel discussion devoted to the present state of affairs in the Caucasus was held in the Abkhaz capital of Sukhumi this week. The event was attended by the Syrian consuls in the republic, Ishak Akram and Sharaf Abaza.
In his address, Akram thanked the universities of Adygeya and Kabardino-Balkaria for allowing many Syrian students to get their education in Russia.
Sharaf Abaza focused on the problems the Syrian nation is facing and thanked Russia for its policy towards Syria. "We appreciate the Russian leadership's policy towards Syria. Syria's strong position is based on Russian and Iranian support," he stressed.
