The Turkmen State Service for Maritime Transportation plans to buy more oil tankers, cargo and passenger ferries and tugboats, Trend reports.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the Cabinet’s session that Turkmenistan needed the active development of maritime transportation to increase petroleum shipping. The Turkmenbashi Port will strengthen its positions as an important center for international maritime transportation. The port is being modernized. Berdimuhamedov added that special attention was being paid to improvement of the economic potential of maritime transportation.
