Some 50,000 protesters, including up to 30,000 at the European Square, gathered in Kiev yesterday to demand the government renew efforts to sign the EU association agreement, RIA Novosti reports.
Protesters gather at the Independence Square and some other areas of the capital. Some of them decided to move towards the government building, where they clashed with the police. Tear gas and police batons were used.
Most protesters went home in the evening. About 1,000 people are still at the Independence Square. Law enforcers have surrounded them.
