The Egyptian Foreign Ministry called Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Husying Avni Botsali was called a persona non grata on Saturday for 'interfering' in the home affairs of Egypt. The level of Turkish-Egyptian diplomatic relations was lowered. Turkey responded by calling Egyptian Ambassador to Turkey Abdurrahman Selahaddin a persona non grata.
