Baku Mayor Gajibal Abutalyb opened the Baku and Astrakhan Friendship Park today. Governor of the Atrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and executives of the Nariman District of Baku for the opening, APA reports.
Zhilkin said that Astrakhan had opened a Heydar Aliyev monument, a friendship bridge, as well as a Heydar Aliyev school. A monument of Duke Vladimir will be unveiled in Astrakhan in late December. Its construction was initiated by Ilham Aliyev and financed by the Heydar Aliyev Fund.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ali Gasanov, head of the socio-political section of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin, officials of the Nariman District and others.
