The attendees of the third summit of the EU-launched Eastern Partnership initiative held in Vilnius issued a final declaration today. In the document the member states of the project stress that serious achievements have been made in the last several years. Among them are facilitation of the visa regime, the development of transport, the energy industry, education and civil society. Such cooperation will continue, the attendees of the event underlined.
In the future, the member states will focus on democratic development, human rights and justice. The countries of the Eastern Partnership will seek associate membership in the EU for those who haven't signed a corresponding agreement yet, the document proposes.
The member states will also join efforts to resolve the ongoiing conflicts in Europe to support peace talks.
