European Chief Diplomat Catherine Ashton has spoken out against the violent suppression of pro-EU protesters in Kiev by the Ukrainian police, Georgia Online reports.
The crackdown of demonstrators demanding European integration happened on Friday night. Ashton noted that violence demonstrated by the police was a violation of principles approved by the EU and Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych at the Vilnius summit of the Eastern Partnership the day before.
