UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said yesterday that he had made a decision on the list of attendants of the Geneva-2 Conference for Syria on January 22 and that Iran should be among the participants, Trend reports.
He expressed hope that the list of attendants will be approved at talks in Geneva on December 20, attended by Russia, US and UN. Ban Ki-moon reminded that he, together with Special Envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, had wanted Iran to take part in the talks in 2012.
The UN head believes that Iran may play the decisive role in settling the Syrian crisis.
