Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze and US Secretary of State John Kerry met in Brussels.
Panjikidze said that she had discussed relations with Russia and expressed fears that Moscow would respond with pressure on Tbilisi for initialing the EU association agreement. Kerry approved the moderate approach of Georgia to relations with Russia in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The Georgian foreign minister noted that Kerry called Tbilisi’s steps towards EU brave. He urged Georgia to cooperate more actively with the EU.
Victoria Nuland, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, was present at the meeting of Kerry and Panjikidze. She will visit Georgia on December 6.
