Turkey will use thermal detectors to guard its borders within the framework of the IBMP project. Aselsan has started shipping the detectors, PanARMENIAN reports.
187 stationary Falconeye-MW detectors and 30 mobile Eye Mobile detectors have been shipped to Turkish Ground Forces. Falconeye-MW has a range of 20km. Eye Mobile is similar to Falconeye-MW, it weighs about 3kg.
The IBMAP project was encouraged by the EU to form a common service of border guards that would take duties of the military, gendarmes and the police. The program is worth 12.3 million euros, 75% of which was granted by the EU.
