Interdepartamental commission for restoration of South Ossetia to be disbanded in 2010

The interdepartamental commission for restoration of South Ossetia will be disbanded in 2010 after spending its remaining 63 million rubles, RIA Novosti reports, citing the South Ossetian Premier, Vadim Brovtsev.

The republic will make its own decisions on which facilities and structures to build. Brovtsev explained that the commission was overseeing the issues. The commission was established in 2008 after the ‘five-day war’ of August, when many buildings and units of infrastructure of South Ossetia were destroyed.

The assistant of the minister of regional development of Russia, Alexey Chernyshov, confirmed that the commission will be disbanded this year. The initiative to disband the commission was made by the minister of regional development.
