Russian Presidential Administration to open center for monitoring of interethnic relations

The Russian Presidential Administration will open a center for monitoring of interethnic relations, said Mikhail Belousov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Department for Interior Policy, Kommersant reports.

The government will prepare a list of proposals for formation of such centers in regions by February 1. The center will have full control over national policy. Vice governors for interethnic problems will be responsible for realization of governmental efforts in this area.

Regional and municipal authorities will realize the federal purpose program for strengthening of unity of the Russian nation and ethnic-cultural development of Russian peoples in 2014-2020.

Belousov said that the monitoring center will be supervised by Deputy Heads of the Presidential Administration Vyacheslav Volodin and Magomedsalam Magomedov.
