The 3rd Caspian Forum hosted by Istanbul on December 4-5 was concluded yesterday. Turkish Minister for Transportation and Communications Binali Yildirim and Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz made speeches, APA reports.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was awarded with the Politician of the Year in the Caspian Region Award. Taner Yildiz awarded a premium to the Head of the socio-political section of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ali Gasanov.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars was named the project of the year in the Caspian Region. Yildirim awarded a premium to Azerbaijani Minister for Transportation Ziya Mamedov and Deputy Minister for Economy and Sustainable Development N. Mikeladze.
Kamal Karpat, a professor of history, was named the scientist of the year and awarded by Shakhmar Movsumor, Head of the SOCAR. Azerbaijani Grand Master Shakhriyar Mamedyarov received a premium for sports achievements. Murat Yetkin, Editor-in-Chief of Hurriyet Daily News, was the named the newsman of the year, NTV host Oguz Haksever was named the TV journalist of the year.
