German president not to visit Sochi games

German Federal President Joachim Gauck is not going to attend the 2014 Olympic Games in the Russian city of Sochi, Ekho Moskvy reports on Sunday.

The German president has decided to boycott the event in order to show his protest against constant human rights violations in Russia, Ekho Moskvy cites Der Spiegel as saying.
