Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said that there was hope that new agreements on the status of the Caspian Sea that may be reached at a summit next year, Trend reports.
The official clarified that a working group was composing a document that heads of states could sign at the summit in Russia. Foreign ministers will have a meeting in the first quarter of 2014 to discuss issues the summit’s agenda would include.
The working group will meet in Astana in late January to discuss the status of the sea, the signing of agreements to protect biological resources and ecological issues, mainly protection of the fish.
