Rasmussen’s term as Secretary General of NATO extended

The North Atlantic Council today extended the term of Anders Fogh Rasmussen as Secretary General of NATO.

This was done in order to enable him to prepare the summit of the organization, which will have to take place September 4-5, 2014 in South Wales, and to preside over it.

"Mr Fogh Rasmussen thanked the representatives of NATO and accepted the offer to extend his stay in officeuntil September 30, 2014", "Interfax" quotes the communiqué informing about this.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen has been the NATO head since August 2009.
