Today at a summit in Kuwait the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) supported holding the "Geneva -2" conference to resolve the situation in Syria and called on the interested parties to actively participate in it.
"Participation in the conference is necessary for the formation of the transitional government of Syria”, RIA Novosti quotes the message.
The heads of Gulf Arab countries rejected any role for the current Syrian President Bashar Assad and his entourage in the transition process and the future of Syria.
In addition, they called for the withdrawal of "all foreign forces" from Syria, which include primarily troops of the Lebanese Shiite movement "Hezbollah" which are fighting on the side of the Syrian government forces.
