Alexander Bastrykin, Chief of the Russian Investigative Committee, is on a visit to Azerbaijan where he met Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov, Trend reports.
Garalov noted that the two states were cooperating effectively in the legal field and described reforms of the judicial system, socio-economic and socio-political field of the past years.
Bastrykin noted that Russia paid special attention to development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the legal field and pointed out major prospects for improvement of cooperation. The sides discussed protection of rights and freedoms, measures to combat crime, terrorism and extremism and expressed hope that the fruitful cooperation would continue.
