Russia's role in the modern world is growing, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, Alexei Pushkov, told Vestnik Kavkaza. Russia offered another scenario that was beneficial to everyone because, after all, peace is preferable to war," Pushkov said.Pushkov said he considers it "a great moral victory of Russia."Among other Russian diplomatic victories Pushkov mentioned Armenia's refusal to sign the Association Agreement with the EU.Commenting on the situation on the Maidan, Pushkov said Russia is behaving itself more modestly than its Western counterparts.
