The mayor of Sukhumi said that the hurricane-force winds caused severe damage to energy supplies. He also mentioned that the Sukhumi authorities would be able to repair all the damage caused by the storm in 2 or 3 days.
The gale-force winds also tore roofs from several buildings and brought down many trees.
