Armenia is forced to cooperate with Iran, its southern neighbour, which means that some tensions between Russia, Iran and Armenia are inevitable, the head of the Modern Iranian Research Centre, Rajab Safarov, believes.
According to the expert, the fact that Armenia successfully cooperates with Iran in the varies spheres, including the gas industry, is rather distressing for Russia.
Russia is Iran's competitor and it's not interested in the enhanced Iranian influence on the former Soviet republic, Safarov stresses.
