Georgian Prime Minister Irakly Garibashvili has confirmed the readiness of Georgian athletes to take part in the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games, Interfax reports.
Commenting on Georgian-Russian relations, Garibashvili noted that Georgia had taken steps towards an improvement of relations with Russia, despite the ‘occupation’ of part of its territory.
Earlier, Garibashvili had said that no government delegation would be sent to the Sochi Games. Despite the protests of the United National Movement opposition party, the government decided to send a team of athletes.
